The Presentation

Fifteen cigars rest in a cedar slide-lid cabinet, its lid inscribed 155 Aniversario — Flor de Juan López, Habana · Cuba. The cabinet is sheathed in a black-and-gold Exclusivo Cuba sleeve, and each cigar carries that same black-and-gold Exclusivo band seated above the familiar red Juan López ring. The effect is one of restrained ceremony — gold against black, the classic crimson beneath — a design that honours the occasion without raising its voice. Never offered outside Cuba, the presentation makes this a genuine collector's box, bearing the Habanos D.O.P. mark and the Venta Mercado Cubano seal, with a box code of BRT, February 2025.

The Smoke

Measuring 124 millimetres with a 50 ring gauge, the robusto format is the ideal theatre for this blend's medium-to-full character. It opens on damp earth and cedar, grounded and unhurried, before unfolding into dark chocolate, roasted coffee and a supple note of leather. Through it all runs the creamy, gently sweet finish that has long been the signature of the house — the quality that turns admiration into loyalty.

Held and stored under controlled humidity at La Casa del Habano Brussels, it is a cigar for an evening given over to reflection: a small, eloquent toast to a Havana marca that has, for over a century and a half, preferred to let the leaf speak for itself.
