The Cohiba Behike 15 Aniversario Selection: Fifteen Years of Cuba's Rarest Leaf
Share
Few names in the universe of Habanos command the reverence of Behike. For fifteen years the line has stood as a kind of promise — proof of just how far a Cohiba could travel in pursuit of depth and refinement. To honour that anniversary, Cuba has released the Cohiba Behike 15 Aniversario Selection, a limited collector's box first presented at the XXV Festival del Habano in 2025. For the serious aficionado, it is as near as one can come to holding the entire Behike story within a single handcrafted case.
A complete Behike, assembled at last
Inside the presentation box rest the four vitolas that define the range, each wearing a special band struck for the occasion. The BHK 52, compact yet remarkably layered, is where the Behike legend first took shape. The BHK 54 remains the line's most poised and approachable expression. The BHK 56 is generous and deep, a companion for unhurried evenings. And the BHK 58 — the newest and largest format, at 178 mm with a 58 ring gauge — makes its very debut within this selection, offering the longest and most fully developed smoke the house has yet conceived.
What sets Behike apart is a single, elusive leaf: the Medio Tiempo, which emerges only at the crown of the plant, and then on barely one in ten plants at all. It carries the most concentrated oils and aromas tobacco can give, and it is the source of the line's extraordinary richness, power and length of finish. Hand-rolled by Cuba's most accomplished torcedores, these cigars sit at the very summit of the Cohiba house.
On the palate
Flawless construction and an effortless draw frame a smoke that unfolds in three distinct movements. The opening is creamy and elegant, scented with toasted nuts, soft florals and a thread of vanilla. In the middle, the Medio Tiempo takes centre stage — earthy depth, dark cocoa, the aroma of freshly pulled espresso. The finish rises in a swell of black pepper, burnt-sugar sweetness and mature, cellar-aged tobacco.
Deliberately small in output, the Aniversario Selection is a genuine collector's piece — a case in which the full arc of the Behike narrative, from its earliest format to its newest, can finally be read side by side.
